Just like previous weeks, there are some interesting updates to report on this week as well. - The week kicked off with Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI) being interviewed by Lex Fridman and some big drops on GPT5. According to the Sam, GPT4 “kinda sucks”, and GPT5 will be as big a jump as 4 was from 3. The app ecosystem has desensitized us to the idea of meaningful version updates, but if Sam isn’t using hyperbole, we’re in for a treat with GPT5. Let’s just hope it’s not as sassy as GPT4 had become. The full interview can be caught here:
- Not to be outdone, we’ve had our first real look at what Neuralink can do. A qudraplegic gentleman, Nolan Arbaugh, was able to control a computer and play chess using ‘telepathy’. The implications are groundbreaking. Elon Musk added that they might be able to even allow people blind from birth to actually see. 🤯 Check out the video below.
- a16z put out an interesting report on the adoption of AI within the world of enterprise. You can read the full report here. But suffice to say that things are looking good.
- Nvidia drops Project GROOT. Not to be outdone by Figure AI, Nvidia released a general purpose foundational model for humanoid robot learning. Think all the robots in Disney/ Pixar, Star Wars and whatever other sci-fi world you live in. Nvidia wants to be the heart/soul of these robots. Seeing all this, one wonders if Jensen Huang is probably the most underrated leader of our current times. Just check out the video below.
